20 Ribu UKM DKI akan Produksi Souvenir Asian Games

UKM will Be Empowered to Make Asian Games Souvenirs

About 20,000 small and middle enterprises (UKM) in the city will be empowered to produce special souvenir of 2018 Asian Games.

Souvenir must be made by UKM and could be a driver of the local economy

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno disclosed he has already discussed the matter along with the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc).

Hotels in East Jakarta will Market UKM Products

"Souvenir must be made by UKM and could be a driver of the local economy. We will invite Mr. Erick Thohir in Inasgoc to make sure we can start production," he stated, Tuesday (10/17).

He continued, eventually, souvenir needs could reach tens of thousands of units and create many jobs. Hence, he hoped it could produce good quality souvenirs within a year.

"We ask for enough time. Now there is about a year, hopefully this is enough for our friends (UKM) in preparing the capital and production," he asserted.

Sandi described souvenirs that will be produced are dolls, t-shirts, scarves, towels and headbands. To market the product, the KUKMP Dept. plans to open booths in each venue.

"So we want how it can be accommodated well in each venue. And the storefront settings should also be interesting," he closed.
